Print out your article

the reference is clearly written like it would appear on the reference page at the beginning or the end of the article. There
was some question as to whether or not you should print out all of the articles, but I feel that your group can share one
copy of the article.
I will give you the
speaking exam subject and assign the speaking exam dates in Week 13.
Anyone required to complete the final listening exam will make arrangements with me.
I am planning a group listening test on Wednesday, December 6, at 2:30 so be sure to talk to me. (I am verifying the play’s ticket stub box for attendance as well.) I won’t chase anyone for
those appointments. If you were not at the play and you don’t talk to me,
I will give you a failing result for the listening exam.
Next class, the Writing Exam, will be in D-205.
Week 13 (Due on Week 14)
Writing
I was not able to
correct the minutes of Meeting 5 during the Week 13 class so I am giving an extension to all Meeting 5 secretaries. If you have the minutes corrected, please hand them in. If
not, don’t stress yourselves about it. You have another week.
Exams
You will continue
to work on your writing exam and I will call out the groups for the oral exams. The
oral exams will probably take place in the Language Lab.
Remember that the
first part of your Final Speaking Exam will be a formal presentation of your Website Experience and the Website itself.
Here are some ideas and content that I would really like to hear in the presentation:
- The presentation
must be professional, as if you are presenting it to a group at your job.
- Look professional!
Please wear appropriate attire!
- Your presentation
should be about 4 minutes long.
- You need an introduction.
That can be anecdotal
and include your reaction to the Website assignment, your planned project, the collaboration with others, or even how
you got started. Feel free to add in your own ideas here. Use a
lot of adjectives and interesting vocabulary. (Be careful in your Past Tense formation!!!)
- You need to develop
on your experience. A few ideas could be to comment on the content of your Website and how it connects to your
field of study. Mention the purpose of your choices that you made in you inclusions on the site and mention how
they might match your personality and field of study. There won't be so much need to expand on the résumé.
However, for the Career Links, there is a lot to develop on what you learned about resources out there. I realize that
the Cookie Jar Questions ask for development on those same topics but I will filter out some of those in order not to be too
repetative.
- You need a
conclusion. In the conclusion, you can summarize your experience and even mention whether or not your first impression
of the project was accurate or not. Are you proud of the final product? (If your not, you really shouldn't mention that.)
Explain the learning experience that you had in working with the Website and others in your meeting groups. Did you
learn from your successes and failures? (Try to be reflective and constructive!) These are only initial ideas and I
want you to include whatever you feel is appropriate here.
Do a final check on
your Website because the other students in you group are finally going to see it in all of its glory! I'm really excited
about this!
Here are the questions
that I have collected from the groups that sent Meeting 5 to me by email. If
you haven’t sent a copy of Meeting 5 to me (all of you Monday B2 secretaries), could you please send them and I will
update the list? Cookie Jar Questions
